  Sami A. Nizam, MD, DMD

  Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

  Dr. Sami A Nizam, II was born in Daytona Beach, FL and attended the University of Florida in Gainesville for his undergraduate training. Following graduation, he stayed in his home state and attended Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale graduating 4th in his class. Upon graduation he earned the Horace Wells senior award for anesthesia, as well as the American College of Dentist Ethics Award. After earning his DMD degree, he completed a 1 year internship at LSU in New Orleans, where he was introduced to modern concepts of post traumatic facial reconstruction. Dr. Nizam then matriculated into the 6 year integrated Oral and Maxillofacial Residency (OMFS) program at Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey. He selected this institution to train at as it seamlessly blended the medical and dental world with his time split evenly between the hospital and dental school. During this time he completed medical school at Rutgers earning his MD. He then completed 1 year of General Surgery at University Hospital, in Newark, NJ. Dr. Nizam then entered into an AACS accredited cosmetic surgery fellowship under the tutelage of Dr. Rhys Branman at The Cosmetic Surgery Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. During his fellowship he completed over 650 cosmetic surgery cases. Dr. Nizam has simultaneously been in private practice since 2013. Dr. Nizam has devoted his professional career to all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Facial Cosmetic Surgery. This is exemplified by the breadth of topics he has contributed to the scientific literature including; oral medicine, anesthesia, trigeminal nerve repair, arthrocentesis of the temporomandibular joint, computer aided reconstruction of facial trauma, dental implant site preparation, genioplasty, lower blepharoplasty, and facelifting. He has published on these subjects in peer reviewed journals, multi volume textbooks, as well as being invited to lecture to live audiences. To keep abreast of the latest developments in these areas, he has always exceeded the continuing education requirements and continues to be involved in numerous outside educational opportunities and organizations. He is currently double board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and The American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Nizam’s philosophy has always been to stay up to date and learn from others to avoid becoming stagnant in the way he practices. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, and various outdoor activities. To give back he has volunteered his surgical skills on multiple foreign mission trips to Bangladesh and Mexico to provide care to the less fortunate. As a dual degree double board certified surgeon, Dr. Nizam is able to provide the highest level of facial care available. However, he feels that patient care is more than surgical technique and training and more about personal relationships. From consultation to post op care he is willing to go the extra mile to make you feel like you are part of his family at Alabama Surgical Arts.

  Lily Nizam, PA-C, CPCP

  OMFS & Cosmetic Surgery Physician Assistant Cosmetic Tattoo Artist

  Lily Nizam, PA-C was born and raised in Boston, MA. She attended Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences where she obtained her Bachelor of Health Sciences in 2009 and Master of Physician Assistant Studies in 2011. PA Nizam has been practicing in surgical subspecialties since 2012 with training from the world renowned Mayo Clinic. She also worked in New York, one of the countries hub for aesthetic medicine, furthering her technical skills and solidifying her artistic abilities while excelling in the field. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the American Association of Physician Assistants. More recently, she has successfully integrated permanent cosmetics as her second career and has earned her Certified Permanent Cosmetics Professional credentials through the Society of Permanent Cosmetics Professionals. PA Nizam focuses on high attention to detail and immaculate precision while recognizing the importance of facial anatomy to be able to deliver the highest quality of care to her patients. She prides herself on developing long-lasting relationships with her patients based on trust. She enjoys educating her patients on the available treatments that would most benefit them based on their aesthetic goals. PA Nizam loves helping her patients develop more confidence by enhancing their natural beauty. Together with Dr. Nizam, they want their patients to look and feel like their best versions of themselves. Aside from her passion in Aesthetics, she also enjoys traveling, cooking, acrylic painting and exercising.

  Sara Krasnowiecki, LE

  Licensed Esthetician

  Sarah is a licensed esthetician who is a graduate of the Aveda Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. Esthetics is her passion and what she loves doing most. She is always excited to help her clients achieve their skincare goals while also educating them on the product that is best for their skin type. Sarah specializes in medical facials, eyelash extensions, dermaplaning, waxing, and chemical peels. She also loves spending time customizing skincare regimens for her patients. “My main goal as an esthetician is to educate my patients about the importance of maintaining a consistent skincare regimen at home and to have a monthly facial. I am happiest when I see my patients coming back, trusting me, and seeing the results on their skin.”

  Joseph W. Ivory, DDS

  Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

  Dr. Ivory was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Clinton, Iowa. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the Army as an infantryman. During his time on Active Duty, he deployed twice in support of Operation Southern Watch to Kuwait with the 24th Infantry Division. After completion of his Active Duty Service Obligation, he entered the US Army Reserves as a Drill Sergeant. He completed a Bachelor of Science (with Distinction) in Microbiology at the University of Iowa and a Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, after which he accepted a commission as an officer and returned to Active Duty. He took a position as the Group Dentist for the 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) and deployed to Afghanistan three times in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Dr. Ivory went on to complete a 4-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Womack Army Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery through the Oral Facial Surgical Institute at Mercy Hospital, St. Louis. After completion of the fellowship, he served as the Assistant Program Director for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at William Beaumont Army Medical Center from 2015-2018. In 2018 he took over as the Program Director for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program for Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center on Ft. Gordon, GA. He also served as adjunct faculty for the OMS program of Augusta University in Augusta, GA, and as an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery in the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He retired from the Army in 2022 with over 27 years of service to his country. Dr. Ivory has been active in academics for his entire career, having published numerous articles and book chapters on topics ranging from anesthesia, orthognathic surgery, TMJ surgery, implantology, oral-facial pathology, and obstructive sleep apnea. He has lectured extensively throughout his career and has run several courses ranging from head and neck anatomy to temporomandibular joint reconstruction. Dr. Ivory is committed to continuing education and staying abreast of the latest technological advances in the field in order to provide the highest level of care for his patients. His surgical interests include dentoalveolar surgery, implantology, reconstruction, orthognathic, TMJ surgery, trauma surgery, and anesthesia. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Ivory is also a member of the United States Army Medical Department Regiment and the Military Order of Medical Merit. Dr. Ivory is supported by his wife Julie. They have four daughters, Julie, Jessica, Jane, and Jordan. He enjoys working out, cooking, gardening, reading, and spending time with his family.
